Carien grew up in Bethlehem in the Free State and completed her Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of the Free State (Cum Laude). She completed her internship as an Intern Counselling Psychologist at the Centre for Psychological Services and Career Development (PsyCaD) at the University of Johannesburg.
As a therapist Carien works transtheoretically, as she always wants to ensure the client is comfortable with the approach and that she is acting in the best interest of the client. However, she prefers Gestalt Therapy, Existentialism and when appropriate using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Carien’s research for her Master’s degree focused on adolescent leadership development. It is her passion to be involved in leadership training and development and she will gladly contribute to workshops, camps en programmes in this particular field.
Carien’s dream and vision is to ensure that every client leaves her office as a better person. She invites you to come over and meet her so you can start a journey of growth and development together.
